Sustainable Infrastructure Programme

Building tomorrow's infrastructure today—sustainable, resilient, and designed for lasting positive impact across generations

Our Sustainable Infrastructure Programme (SIπ) equips public authorities, private developers, and infrastructure operators with the framework to deliver projects that are resilient, efficient, and equitable. We focus on the core systems that define modern societies: from clean energy generation and smart water management to circular waste solutions, sustainable transport networks, resilient landscapes, and robust digital connectivity.

Whether you're planning a geothermal plant, a smart grid, a water reuse facility, a transit corridor, or a data-driven urban ecosystem, our programme provides the holistic methodology to balance economic viability with environmental and social impact across the entire project lifecycle.

Summary

The Sustainable Infrastructure Programme (SIπ) provides a comprehensive framework for transforming how infrastructure is planned, designed, built, and operated. Developed in collaboration with the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure and Harvard University, SIπ closes the critical sustainability gap with 73 criteria across six core axes: Social Impact, Governance, Life-Cycle Resources, Environment, Risk & Resilience, and Castling.

Built on the Envision foundation, SIπ integrates and harmonises leading international standards—including environmental management (ISO 14001), energy performance (ISO 50001, ENERGY STAR), green building certifications (LEED, BREEAM), and the GHG Protocol. This creates a unified, verifiable roadmap for Positive Impact infrastructure delivery.

The programme offers a tailored pathway from initial assessment to independent verification, ensuring projects generate measurable environmental, social, and economic value. Through third-party verification and our proprietary ASV methodology, SIπ builds lasting stakeholder trust and facilitates access to green finance.
