Prior to COP27 of Egypt, at Green Cross United Kingdom (G+UK) we have decided to be even more ambitious in our efforts to face Climate Change, the tip of the Global Change iceberg, and contribute to maintaining the objective of the Paris Agreement of preventing global temperatures from rising by more than 1.5 degrees Celsius.
We are aware that we must work efficiently to fulfill G+UK’s mission and advance the energy transition and decarbonization in accordance with global goals, in order to reduce GHG emissions by 45% before 2030.
We hereby announce that on September 19, JAVIER DE LA HOZ was elected and appointed by G+UK for the role of Director in Colombia, and thereby be able to advance the objectives of the NGO founded by Nobel Prize winner Mikhail Gorbachev in 1993. This was done in recognition of his strong commitment to the preservation of the environment as well as his tireless work in the public and private sectors that led to the solution of strong and relevant socio-environmental conflicts in Colombia.
Dr. Javier De La Hoz will be the direct and sole point of contact with the Executive Director of G+UK in London, joining the G+UK network in Latin America and the Caribbean.
G+UK will strategically develop in Colombia the implementation of our programmes based on the Climate Positive DNA, for Sustainable Infrastructure, Regenerative Mining, and Climate Mining, with the full support of the G+UK network and Green Cross International.
